Dr. Khalid Anwar completed his MBBS from King Edward Medical College, Punjab University – Lahore, Pakistan in 1987. In 1994, he obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP, UK), followed by a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Rehabilitation Medicine from the Postgraduate Medical Education Board (PMETB), UK in 2007. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (FRCPE) in 2010. 

Dr. Khalid began his medical career as a House Officer at Mayo Hospital, Lahore, Pakistan. He later pursued specialist training across leading hospitals in the United Kingdom, including City General Hospital, Stoke on Trent, and Devonshire Royal Hospital, Buxton. In 1996, he took up the post of Specialist Rheumatologist at King Fahad Hospital – Hofuf, Saudi Arabia, where he was instrumental in establishing a dedicated Rheumatology Department. In 2007, Dr. Khalid was appointed Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, one of Europe's most advanced hospitals. There, he served as Clinical Lead for Neurorehabilitation across major trauma, cancer, and regional networks. In 2015, he moved to the UAE to become Lead Physician and Head of Department in a rehabilitation hospital in Abu Dhabi, where he spearheaded programs that led to the hospital becoming the first in the UAE to achieve CARF accreditation for Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Rehabilitation and Stroke Rehabilitation programs. Currently, Dr. Khalid is Consultant in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Salma Rehabilitation Hospital. 

Dr. Khalid’s areas of expertise include Neurorehabilitation, Brain Injury Rehabilitation, Spasticity Management, Prosthetics, and Amputee Rehabilitation. He also has extensive leadership experience in developing rehabilitation protocols, achieving accreditation milestones, and supervising interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams. 

Dr. Khalid is a member of the British Society of Rehabilitation Medicine and the British Medical Association. He is a licensed Consultant by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi.
